ABOUT AMENDMENT C147 - RESIDENTIAL GROWTH ZONE - GARDEN APARTMENT

Amendment C147 was approved by the Minister for Planning on the 15th January 2015. It applied specific Residential Growth Zone Schedules and additional design and development requirements to the following four key areas within the City of Darebin, generally in accordance with principles and recommendations of the Darebin Housing Strategy 2013-2033:zz
  • Edwardes Street, Broadway and Bedford Street, Reservoir;
  • Gower and Cooma Streets, Preston;
  • Station Street, Fairfield; and
  • Northland residential area (Albert, Chaleyer, Seston, Tyler, Wood and Hannah Streets), East Reservoir/East Preston.

The Amendment requires a new format of residential apartment typologies to be used within the identified Residential Growth Zone areas. The typology is referred as the Garden Apartment.
