Darebin City Council is starting a community-wide conversation to find out your vision for the future. Our 20-year community vision will be developed and owned by the people of Darebin and we want to hear from you. It’ll be your chance to design the future of your neighbourhood and tell us about the issues most important to you.
What are we doing?
Darebin is developing a 20-year Community Vision to capture the aspirations of across our diverse community to establish what you want Darebin to look and feel like in 2041. This is just the start of a process that will include interactive engagement sessions across all areas and corners of our municipality and a deliberative engagement process that will inform the Community Vision in 2041 and the way in which Council will realise this through the resourcing available.
The Community Vision for 2041 will inform the future planning and priorities of Council into the future.
This is just the beginning of the process with deep and extensive community involvement planned. We’ll provide regular updates to ensure the people of Darebin know how important it is to have their say.
What is happening now
A short survey has been designed to get the conversation started. Within the survey, we’re specifically seeking your thoughts on the following key questions:
What do you love most about the City of Darebin?
What is the one thing we need to change or do to make Darebin the best it can be?
Thinking ahead to 2041, for the next generation or your next stage in life, what three words would you use to describe the Darebin you want to see?
Attending our community pop-up sessions – details coming soon
We will be conducting telephone surveys with randomly selected households across the municipality so keep an ear out, you might receive a call!
Please share your thoughts by 14 February 2021.
Keep your eye on our social media channels for more details in the New Year.
