WORKSHOPS

Council held a number of workshops in early 2014 to work with the community to co-create a positive legacy for the livability and and economic vibrancy of the Gilbert Rd shopping centres including:

- Miller on Gilbert
- Regent on Gilbert
- Bell on Gilbert
- Murray on Gilbert

Council took these thoughts and ideas on board and developed the Gilbert Road Built Form Review: Centre Assessments report. This report was presented to, and adopted by, Council on Monday, 21 July 2014. It also included a summary of the community engagement and co-design workshop outcomes. All of these documents are available to download from the Document Library to the right hand side of this page.

    Thanks to the local community for coming along to the Co-Design workshops and sharing with us what you treasure about the local commercial centres on Gilbert Road and how their future development should be shaped. 

    We’ve taken these thoughts and ideas on board and have developed the Gilbert Road Built Form Review: Centre Assessments report.  This report was presented to, and adopted by, Council on Monday 21st July, 2014.  It also included a summary of the community engagement and co-design workshop outcomes.  All of these documents are now available to download from the Document Library to the right hand side of this page.

    This is an important step towards the preparation of the Built Form Guidelines for the centres which will be developed during the coming 6 months.  We expect the guidelines to be part of a suite of new draft planning controls which are proposed to be available for public comment in 2015.  This will be your next opportunity to be involved in the project and we will keep you informed as we approach this phase of the project.
