Council held a community workshop for residents of the Oakover Village area on a sunny Saturday afternoon (September 14) at Darebin Arts and Entertainment Centre and ran from 2pm until 4.30pm. 52 residents attended the workshop as well as Cazaly Ward Councillors – Cr. Julie Williams, Cr. Bo Li and Cr. Vince Fontana who all helped to open and close the event.
The workshop involved residents working together in small groups to understand the opportunities for change in Oakover Village and to discuss the proposed planning controls forming part of Planning Scheme Amendment C136. The workshop discussions were wide ranging and produced a rich variety of feedback for Council to consider. Each table discussion was unique and encompassed a range of considerations such as local values to be protected and opportunities and concerns relating to the proposed planning controls including the Development Plan Overlay (DPO) and the amendment process.
