What are the Fairfield Village boundaries?
Fairfield Village includes all of the retail and commercial land in Fairfield, centred along Station Street, but also in Wingrove Street, Railway Place and Duncan Street. It also includes the Fairfield Library and the car park in Gillies Street.
The study area for Our Fairfield Village includes a slightly larger area – refer to the map. Future recommendations may extend beyond the Fairfield Village boundaries.
How can the community get involved?
Community input on all initiatives to date has been vital to ensure we are maintaining the valued local village feel of the area while positioning Fairfield Village for long term, sustainable success.
We will continue to offer residents, businesses and land owners genuine opportunities for involvement as projects progress.
Right now you can have your say on proposed parking restriction changes in the centre and on Planning Scheme Amendment C161 to introduce built form and heritage controls.
There will also be further opportunities for people to get involved when a draft Streetscape Masterplan is released in coming months.
You are welcome to submit additional ideas and feedback at any time to firstname.lastname@example.org.
What will the Fairfield Village Streetscape Masterplan include?
The Fairfield Village Streetscape Masterplan will include recommendations for improvements to the public spaces and streets within Fairfield Village, including:
For recent examples of masterplans completed by the City of Darebin in Reservoir and the Preston Junction, visit http://www.darebin.vic.gov.au/Your-Council/How-council-works/Council-Initiatives
When will the draft Fairfield Village Streetscape Masterplan be ready for community feedback?
Announcements about the exhibition of a draft Streetscape Masterplan will be made in early 2018.
