  • Planning Scheme Amendment C156 - Neighbourhood Residential Zone

    Council proposed to apply the Neighbourhood Residential Zone (NRZ) to approximately 20% of residential land within Darebin, following on from the introduction of new residential zones into the Darebin Planning Scheme via the Residential Zones Standard Advisory Committee (RZSAC) process in 2014-15. The Amendment was ultimately not supported by the Minister for Planning.

    Council prepared a Urban Master Plan together with the community to improve the attractiveness and liveability of public space in the Junction precinct, Preston.

    The consultation process to develop and finalise the Plan included interviews with local business, local resident and business workshops, public exhibition of draft concepts and community surveys.

  • Planning Scheme Amendment C148 - Extension of Darebin Development Contributions Plan 2004-2014

    Council amended the Development Contributions Plan Overlay and associated documents in the Darebin Planning Scheme to provide a mechanism to expend unspent funds following completion of the collection period of the Darebin Development Contributions Plan 2004 in June 2014. The amended DCP facilitates the expenditure of the unspent funds on the Outdoor Multi-Sports Stadium project which will have a municipal wide benefit.

    Community consultation included a formal public exhibition and submissions process.
