  • Are you able to outline in plain English how St George's rd between Cramer St and Murray Rd will be affected by these changes. Will buildings along this section still be limited to 4 storeys? Also can the council outline if these amendments will affect the laneway at the back of the properties on St George's rd. Thank you

paulanddianne asked over 6 years ago

Thanks for your question. The land between Cramer and Murray is proposed to be 3 to 4 storeys in height (7-13 metres), allowing more residences close to Preston Central. Buildings are supposed to be orientated towards St Georges Road with their highest part and step down towards the back. Laneways are encouraged to be utilised for vehicle/car access.

If you haven't already, take a look at the information on Planning Scheme Amendment C136 on this website.

  • Is there a readable map down to street level that will provide me with enough detail to identify my property's overlay scheme? Specifically in Northcote.

IanC asked over 6 years ago

Thanks for your question. You can find out what planning controls currently apply to any property, and if there are any proposed changes, by using Darebin Guide interactive online mapping tool.

Click here to open the mapping tool (it will open in another tab in your browser) and do the following:

    • type in your street address and suburb into the “Address Search” at the bottom left and click “Search
    • Your property will display on a map indicating current zones and overlays that apply to the land. A summary of the search is shown on the right. The summary also shows “Proposed Zone”, “Proposed Overlay” and “Proposed Precinct”.
    • Take note of which zone, overlay and precinct is proposed. If no zone, overlay and/or precinct is proposed that may be because there are no changes to planning controls proposed on your property. But there may be changes to properties nearby. In order to see where the changes are occurring in relation to your property you can use the zoom in or out tools at the top left (the magnifying glasses with a + or -).
With this information you now know which changes are either proposed on your property and/or are proposed near you. You should also check the exhibition documents for the different Planning Scheme Amendments and strategies on exhibition for more details about proposed changes. Do this by following the links at the top right hand of this site or go to the State Government amendment exhibition website here.

  • Where is the "Make a Formal Submission" section on this website? Please advise.

    Thank you for your question.

A submission of support or objection can be lodged via the 'Make a Formal Submission' tool located at the bottom left hand corner of each of the project pages (next to the 'Ask a Question' tool). See image below.

In order to make a submission, you need to be a registered user. A submission can be lodged in response to any of the following:

    1. Amendment C136 – St Georges Rd

    3. Amendment C138 – Local Planning Policy Framework
    4. Darebin Housing Strategy (will be treated as a submission to Amendment C138)

    Thanks
